Museion presents Cerith Wyn Evans’ first solo exhibition in an Italian museum. In what the UN has decreed the International Year of Light, CWE has created a major installation devoted to the heavenly bodies and their movements. The new work is presented alongside a number of existing pieces, like the lit columns and various installations featuring sound and neon light.
The exhibition in Museion delves into physical phenomena, challenging the boundaries of science to explore the interstices that leave room for the imagination and philosophy. The result is a sensory journey through different temporal dimensions, among elements that are untranslatable, or left unsaid: a tribute to the indefinable and imperceptible.

Cerith Wyn Evans (Wales, 1958, lives and works in London). The artist, who has exhibited at international exhibitions and events since the 1980s, took part in Documenta11 in 2002 and represented Wales at the Venice Biennale in 2003. Recent personal shows include those in the Serpentine Sackler Gallery, London, TBA-21 Augarten, Vienna (2013), Kunsthall Bergen (2011), and Casa Luis Barragán, Mexico City (2010). His work “Goodnight Eileen” from ‘Here to Go’ by Terry Wilson / Brion Gysin (1982), is in the Museion collection, acquired on the occasion of the exhibition “Light Lab” in 2005.

A publication will accompany the exhibition.
