We are pleased to show the new film by Holly Zausner "Unsettled Matter" at Loock Galerie.

Holly Zausner's new film "Unsettled Matter" takes place in a deserted New York City, devoid of people and cars except for the artist as a film noir character. It is a film that explores ideas about contemporary alienation , film history, aspects of NY culture. It was filmed on HD 4K by a well known cinematographer Mott Hupfel. In real time the city's iconic locations were made deserted, Grand Central Station, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Film Forum while they are playing L'Avventura, Chinatown, 5 blocks on Broadway, Washington Square Park, Bergdorf Goodman's department store, just to name a few locations. The film references Godard's "Alphaville", Fassbinder's
"World on a Wire", as well as many Hollywood films. In the film one doesn't know whether the city is truly deserted or whether it is the artist"s internal state projected on to the city. The film between exits somewhere between" reality and a dreamscape".
