Fiona Banner has become well known for her epic and often handwritten descriptions of hollywood movies which were large format drawings. The 1000 page textbook "The Nam" consists of a monumetal description of five different Vietnam movies which results in an almost unreadable monolitic text. This textbased work has led Fiona Banner to a special interest in the form of the writing and also in typography and especially in the mostly overlooked punctuation marks. Fiona Bannerґs work is very much situated within a relfection of language within popular culture. She visualized the language and transfers it into other medias such as sculpture and drawing.
