| Ulla von Brandenburg - La Maison curated by Anna-Catharina Gebbers Nov 12 - 16, 2007 375 Hudson Street - Saatchi & Saatchi building New York, NY 10014-3620 Talk: Ulla von Brandenburg + Anna-Catharina Gebbers Nov 19, 2007 at 6:30 pm Goethe-Institut New York 1014 Fifth Avenue at 83rd Street New York, NY 10028, USA > PERFORMA 07 The Second Visual Art Performance Biennial, New York City Ulla von Brandenburg Ulla von Brandenburg’s installation is a multi-room labyrinth delineated by large textile panels. Using colors based on Bauhaus chromatics on the one hand, and the Luescher-Colour-Diagnostics spectrum on the other, a new color universe is established in each room. At the center of the labyrinth, a new 16mm film will be screened, which picks up where the viewer leaves off, driving slowly through the rooms of a baroque castle, populated by people in petrified poses. About the Artist Ulla von Brandenburg (b. Karlsruhe, Germany,1974) works in a variety of forms, including drawing, painting, film, video, installation, and performance, examining the ways in which meaning and significance can be articulated between the borders of media. She has had solo exhibitions at Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2006), Kunsthalle, Zurich (2006), and Produzentengalerie, Hamburg (2007), among other venues, and her work has been included in numerous group shows and biennials including at Prague Biennial 3, Prague (2007), Arnolfini, Bristol (2007), and the Tate Modern, London (2007).
